William Wilkie
Tombstone in the Callendonia Church Cemetery of Switzerland County, Ind., has
the following inscription "William Wilkie, native of Queen's Ferry, Scotland,
died Nov.28, 1831, at the age of 42." A nearby stone has this inscription:
"Helen Morris, native of Leith, Scotland, and wife of William Wilkie, died
Dec. 21, 1832."
William's will, recorded in the office of the Clerk of Switzerland County, mentions
his wife Helen and their children, William Alexander, John James, Thomas, Henrietta,
Helen, Elizabeth, and Jeanetta. No marriage records found in the office and
there are no descendants in the county.
