Feb. 15th, Sunday
Dear Diary

I have been down to Clara Howton's this afternoon. Clara, Mary and Hollie run the switchboard. I went down there to see Bonnie Hicks and Ruby Dockery come over. Ruby lives in the log house close by. We had a good time. Dad went over to the Clark Place and Mother went down to Dany's. Aunt Cynthia and Mrs. Niece Wyatt came this afternoon. I cooked another pie this morning.

Feb. 16th, Monday
Dear Diary:
Mother and I went up to Finis' this afternoon and Dany's folks came but they had really came to our house so we went back home. Aunt Cynthia was here a while this morning. Dad has some little pigs that came a day or so ago but he has been keeping one that was a runt wrapped up by the fire. I got got a box of candy from Carrie and Ken today. Mother and Dad got one too. We were awful glad to get it. Carrie and Ken are always sending us things. They are so good to us.

Feb. 17th, Tuesday
Dear Diary
I wrote to Carrie and Ken today and thanked them for the candy. Mother wrote to Pauline. Beulah F. and the girls have been here this afternoon. Mother and I went up to Mrs. Betty Lantaff's right after dinner and picked some turnip greens. The mail man didn't even leave a paper in our box today. That doesn't often happen.

Mrs. Betty showed me a small feather crown taken out of the feather pillow that Mr. Lantaff died on. A sign of something, forget what.

Feb. 18th, Wednesday
Dear Diary:
I sent off my items this morning for the Dawson Springs Progress. I forgot to mention that the ones I sent last week were in last Friday's paper. It has sprinkled a little today. Clyde is coming after Dad tonight and he is going to Madisonville tomorrow. Clyde works at Purdy's Grocery(1) and Audrey works at the telephone office in Dawson. Mrs. Betty is staying with Mother and me.

Dear Diary:

Clyde came last night after Dad and brought me some bananas and oranges. Mother and I went down to Mrs. Jane Brown's and stayed all day. It sprinkled on us a little but we went on. Mrs. Betty and Mrs. Neice are staying with us tonight. Marvin came down with them and stayed awhile.

Feb. 20th, Friday
Dear Diary:
Marvin has been here today. I cooked a pie this morning. Mrs. Jane talked of staying with us tonight but couldn't. Mrs. Betty and Mrs. Niece came to stay but about dark Archie brought Dad home and Mrs. Betty and Mrs. Niece took our lantern and went home. Dany's folks have been up here tonight also Marvin. We played cards.

I have been piecing quilts today. I pieced some yesterday too and Mother has been piecing some also. Beulah F. and the girls came up this afternoon. I ironed this morning. Francis and Dorothy Cicil came and stayed awhile. We got a letter from Carrie and Ken. They said they had mailed me a new raincoat and overcoat.
