March 22nd, Sunday
Dear Diary:
We had a pretty good diner today but nobody came. Dad fixed Mother's quilt
frames up this morning. Ruby Dockery came this afternoon also Dany's children.
I made a kite but it tore up almost as quickly as it was made. Artie is
sick. She has the flu. Mother has been up there to see her.
March 23rd, Monday
Dear Diary:
I wrote to Buster this morning. Mother is quilting and Dad is over to
the other place finishing papering. tucks house. I went down to Dany's
this afternoon and Beulah F. has been up here helping Mother quilt. Artie
is not much better. I have just finished writing a letter to Lucille that
I will mail off tomorrow.
March 24th, Tuesday
Dear Diary:
Dad started pruning his fruit trees this morning but Mr. Robert Tirey
came by and he went with him to Madisonville. Mrs Betty is spending the
day with us and helping Mother quilt. She is going to stay all night.
I have been embroidering this afternoon. Marvin came and we played cards
awhile.
March 25th, Wed.
Dear Diary:
Mother finished her quilt this morning. Floyd came this morning and stayed
and ate dinner. We got a letter from Bonnie also one from Carrie Mae and
Beulah got one from Pauline. Mrs. Betty went home this morning. Beulah
F. and her kids have been here again today. They were here yedsterday
also. They come every day I reckon. Floyd calls Marvin "Wampus Cat",
I'm called "Minoat."
March 26th, Thursday
Dear Diary:
Gladys Brown has been here this afternoon. I wrote to Bonnie today but
can't send it until tomorrow. Mother and I went up to Artie late this
afternoon. It is the first time I have seen her since she has been sick.
I made a butter pie today. I make one nearly every day.
March 26th, Friday
Dear Diary:
It has been raining today. Mother has another quilt in the frames and
I have been helping her quilt. It is the first quilting I have ever done.
I forwarded a letter to Beulah this morning that she received Wed. from
a girl in Hanson, not the one from Pauline. I got some candy at the store
a few minutes ago.
March 28th, Saturday
Dear Diary:
It is cold today. We would go to a dance over at Tuck's house tonight
if it wasn't so cold, and we had someone to go with us. Mother is busy
quilting today and Dad is working in the Orchard. Marvin has been down
here for awhile and also Aunt Ella. I wrote to Carrie and Ken this morning.
There is a tacky party at Dalton tonight. There is also a Chapter down
there but Mother and Dad aren't going.
