May 17th, Sunday
Dear Diary:
Morton and Lillian came this morning and stayed nearly all day. I cooked a couple of pies for dinner. Mrs. Betty came down this afternoon to see Morton, Lillian and Generia. Nola Ree and Generia have been having a dandy time. Aftert they all left, MOther went down to Dany's. Beulah and Adeline went up to Artie's awhile.

May 18th, Monday
Dear Diary:
I wrote to Buster this morning and received a letter from him. Nola Ree wrote to her mother. Adeline went home a few minutes ago. Mother, Nola Ree and I have just got back from Dany's. We finished eating Beulah's box of candy that Edna and Rich sednt her. Audrey Franklin is hauling manure for Dad today.

May 19th, Tuesday
Dear Diary:
Mother opened her box of candy today. I wrote to Lee and Lillian this morning. It looks like rain now. It sure is good to have Beulah home. I have been reading a mighty good book. Mrs. Betty came and stayed awhile then we all went down to Dany's.

May 20th, Wed.
Dear Diary:
It rained some last night. Pauline called this morning and said she and Mamie Glover were coming this afternoon if it didn't rain. Pauline lives at Hopkinsville. We have been down to Dany's awhile. Aunt Cynthia came and wanted to go. Pauline and Mamie have just left, Mother ordered a stove from her. John works for Montgomery Ward and Co. Mother also ordered some curtains.

May 21st, Thursday
Dear Diary:
Mrs. Betty and Aunt Cynthia stayed nearly all day. We have been down at Dany's again. I finished reading a good book this morning. It is kindly cool today and has been for several days. Pauline called while we were down at Dany's. She couldn't get us so she called mrs. Betty and said she had sent the curtains Mother ordered and some more things.

It was Sat May 21, 1927, four years ago today, that Lucky Lindburgh completed his non-stop ocean trip landing in Paris. Still no news of the kidnapped Lindburgh baby.

May 22nd, Friday
Dear Diary:
We got a letter from Nola today saying they were coming after Nola Ree tomorrow. Of course we have been down to Dany's. Dad sure doesn't like for us to play cards. He has been feeling bad today and has been for several days. It has been raining and the roads are kindly slick but it looks like it is going to clear up now.

May 23rd, Saturday
Dear Diary:
We got Nola Ree cleaned up and Nola, R. K. and a boy and a girl got her about dinner time but didn't stay long. Mrs Richard and some more came by after Beulah this morning to take her to Madisonville to the Blue Ribbon Parade. I talked to Audrey today. She starts her vacation tomorrow. She works nights at the telephone office. They are coming down to spend the night with us soon.
