Dear Diary:
Morton and Lillian came this morning and stayed nearly all day. I cooked
a couple of pies for dinner. Mrs. Betty came down this afternoon to see
Morton, Lillian and Generia. Nola Ree and Generia have been having a dandy
time. Aftert they all left, MOther went down to Dany's. Beulah and Adeline
went up to Artie's awhile.

Dear Diary:
I wrote to Buster this morning and received a letter from him. Nola Ree
wrote to her mother. Adeline went home a few minutes ago. Mother, Nola
Ree and I have just got back from Dany's. We finished eating Beulah's
box of candy that Edna and Rich sednt her. Audrey Franklin is hauling
manure for Dad today.

Dear Diary:
Mother opened her box of candy today. I wrote to Lee and Lillian this
morning. It looks like rain now. It sure is good to have Beulah home.
I have been reading a mighty good book. Mrs. Betty came and stayed awhile
then we all went down to Dany's.
May 20th, Wed.
Dear Diary:
It rained some last night. Pauline called this morning and said she and
Mamie Glover were coming this afternoon if it didn't rain. Pauline lives
at Hopkinsville. We have been down to Dany's awhile. Aunt Cynthia came
and wanted to go. Pauline and Mamie have just left, Mother ordered a stove
from her. John works for Montgomery Ward and Co. Mother also ordered some
curtains.
May 21st, Thursday
Dear Diary:
Mrs. Betty and Aunt Cynthia stayed nearly all day. We have been down at
Dany's again. I finished reading a good book this morning. It is kindly
cool today and has been for several days. Pauline called while we were
down at Dany's. She couldn't get us so she called mrs. Betty and said
she had sent the curtains Mother ordered and some more things.
It was Sat May 21, 1927, four years ago today, that Lucky
Lindburgh completed his non-stop ocean trip landing in Paris. Still no
news of the kidnapped Lindburgh baby.
May 22nd, Friday
Dear Diary:
We got a letter from Nola today saying they were coming after Nola Ree
tomorrow. Of course we have been down to Dany's. Dad sure doesn't like
for us to play cards. He has been feeling bad today and has been for several
days. It has been raining and the roads are kindly slick but it looks
like it is going to clear up now.
May 23rd, Saturday
Dear Diary:
We got Nola Ree cleaned up and Nola, R. K. and a boy and a girl got her
about dinner time but didn't stay long. Mrs Richard and some more came
by after Beulah this morning to take her to Madisonville to the Blue Ribbon
Parade. I talked to Audrey today. She starts her vacation tomorrow. She
works nights at the telephone office. They are coming down to spend the
night with us soon.
