| May 24th, Sunday
Dear Diary:
Beulah and I went to Church this morning and stayed until after twelve
o'clock then came home. There was a very large crowd at Church. When we
got home Mother had gone down to Dany's and Dad was at home alone. None
of the children have been here today.
May 25th, Monday
Dear Diary:
We got a letter from Buster this morning saying he would be home in two
weeks. Also a letter from Edna and Rich. They and Carrie and Ken are coming
the fourth Sun. in July. Beulah is cooking supper tonight. She is cooking
salmons. Finis and Artie are here now. They came to set with us awhile
before bed time.
May 26th, Tuesday
Dear Diary:
I washed my hair this morning and cleaned up myself. Pauline called a
while ago. She is at Dawson working for Montgomery Ward and Co. I think
it rained a little last night. Audrey Herian came by and brought mothers
curtains, cooking pans and other things. We got a letter from Carrie and
Ken this morning but they didn't say anything about when they were coming.
May 27th, Wed.
Dear Diary:
Dad has been working around the house today, trimming the hedge and trees.
Mother went down to Dany's to play cards awhile but has beden sitting
out Petunies since she got back. Dad went over to
the Clark Place this afternoon. Pauline talked about coming down to stay
all night but decided to go back home to Hoptown. Mrs, Betty is going
to stay.
May 28th, Thursday
Dear Diary:
Mrs Betty went home before breakfast as usual. I wrote to Bonnie and to
Cartrie and Ken this morning. Beulah got a nice pair of hoses from Bailey
and Lenna today. They sent them as a graduation present. Carrie and Ken
are sending her a tennis net. It has been awful hot today.
May 29th, Friday
Dear Diary:
Beulah and I have been several places this afternoon trying to get up
a Sunday School Class. We went to Aunt Ella's, Annie Tapp's , and Homer
Wyatt's. Mrs. Betty and Aunt Cynthia have spent the day with us. They
and mother went down to Dany's awhile.
May 30th, Saturday
Dear Diary:
It looked like rain all day, We were aiming to go to more places to see
if they would send their children to Sunday School but it has looked too
much like rain. I have been reading some. Mother washed clothes this morning
and is tired. We looked for Audrey and Clyde to some to spent the night
but they haven't come.
