May 31st, Sunday
Dear Diary:
It rained last night but Francis came by and we went to Church. Mr. Moon
from Madisonville was the preacher. Uncle Frank and Aunt Gilly has been
here this afternoon. Beulah Franklin said a while ago that Dany was feeling
worse so after Uncle Frank and Aunt Gilly went home mother went down to
Dany's.
June 1st, Monday
Dear Diary:
Marvin came and stayed awhile this morning. Dany is getting along better
today. I got a letter from Bonnie this morning. I wrote to Buster, he
will be home the last of this week. Mother washed some out some quilts
today and went to Danies later. They are up here or we are down there
most all time.
June 2, Tuesday
Dear Diary:
Beulah went down to Mrs. Jane's this afternoon. I went with Mother to
Dany's but came back home and went to Mrs. Jane's. Dad painted the front
porch floor and Mother painted some chairs, flower pots, etc. This morning
we have been busy trying to get a few things done but don't get much done.
June 3rd, Wednesday
Dear Diary:
We have done a little of everything and not much of anything today. Mother
and I want you to where and while we were there. Adaline and Gordon came
by and Beulah went with them to the Mines after Hezzie. Mrs Betty was
aiming to stay all night with us bur she went to Mr. Dockrey's.
June 4th, Thursday
Dear Diary:
I wrote to Bonnie a few minutes ago. It looked like rain this morning
and did sprinkle a little but this afternoon it is clear and pretty. Bill
Winstead came by as he was coming from B. G. and said that Buster would
be home tomorrow. Dad has been working pretty hard lately. I have been
reading.
June 5th, Friday
Dear Diary:
Dad and Finis worked all morning over at the Clark Place and then came
home and he and Gothard went to Dawson after dinner. They brought Buster
home and just got back as it started to rain. Hezzie came by and Beulah
went with home with him to spend the week end with Adeline.
June 6, Saturday
Dear Diary:
Today is Floyd's and Bonnie's Birthday. Dad finished sowing peas this
morning. Dad, Finis and Gothard have been over at the school house cutting
a big tree that has honey in it. Buster has gone somewhere with Willie
Mathews tonight. There is an Old Fiddlers Contest at Dalton. Mrs. Betty
is staying all night with us. It is raining now.
