Week 26 of the Diary starts.........
June 21st, Sunday
Dear Diary:
I was sick last night, well not exactly, you know what I mean. Of course
I'm feeling bad today. Louella came this morning to stay all day. Clyde
is coming after me and I am going to stay a couple of weeks with them.
It looks an awful lot like rain now and Louella has just gone home.
June 22nd, Monday
Dear Diary:
I am at Dawson now. Audrey has gone to work. Clyde is working also. I
have been reading nearly all day, I have finished two whole True Story
magazines. It looked like rain about 2 o'clock but not so much now. It
sprinkled a few drops last night. Coz. Charity(1)
and I are going to a Holiness meeting tonight.
June 23rd, Tuesday
Dear Diary:
I went out walking and went to see Aunt Rebecca Jane and up to Mr. Harvey
Coats. I also went down to the telephone office where Audrey works, Audrey
and I are going to the talkies tonight. "Meet The Wife" is going
to be on. I am having a wonderful time. Coz. Charity is washing clothes
now.
June 24th, Wednesday
Dear Diary:
I went up to Morton and Lillian's this morning and am spending the day.
They live in the house with Mr. and Mrs. Elmer McGregor. Morton, Lillian,
Generia and I went down to the Post Office and got some wall paper. Coz.
Charity(2) and I were aiming to go to the
Holiness meeting but it looks like rain.
June 25th, Thursday
Dear Diary:
It looks pretty today for the first time since I've been here. Margaret
Purdy, Billie and Polly Orange(3) and I are
going to the Holiness meeting this afternoon. Coz. Charity and I will
go tonight I guess. Margaret was aiming to go but is going to Princeton.
June 26th, Friday
Dear Diary:
I went up to Flora's this morning and stayed all day, until about four
o'clock then I went up to Ethel Mais ( ? Morris..DCW ) to see if she wanted
to go with me to the Holiness tent meetig tonight. She said she would
so we are going. Mother was here in Dawson yesterday. She is going to
Adairville today I think, and on to Springfield to see Bonnie
June 27th, Saturday
Dear Diary:
Beulah asaid Buster and Mother went to Adairville and wasn't coming back
before Monday. Guess we will go to the Holiness meeting again tonight.
I took a good bath this afternoon and put on clean clothes. It is so hot
we nearly die. Sure hope Mother is having a good time.

1. Charity Dame Eison... Audrey Wilkey's ( Clyde ) mother. Charity is a relation to Mary Ruth by the Franklins and the Dames.
2. My Grandmother Charity was a "dye in the wool" Universalist, I never would have thought she ever went to another Church. (DCW )
3. At that time the Oranges and Clyde Wilkey were next door neighbors.
