Note: It is believed that Uncle Mart's father was a Horn/Horne. Uncle Mart was interviewed by the Henderson newspaper when he was in his 90's. He said that he had a enjoyed his life. He described his first stepfather as being abusive and said that he was glad that Mr Conner was killed in the Civil War. He thought his second stepfather, Mr Freeman, had been a wonderful father. He had a family of his own by the time of his mother's third marriage to John Bunyon Huntley.
