Note: Mary Jane Wilkie who married William Daniel Franklin Pryor. She is not with the Wilkie family in the 1860 census, she is with the family in the 1870 census at 9 years of age, she is married by the 1880 census and is listed with her husband as a Pryor. I have seen several Wilkie documents that fail to mention her. But, she did exist, she was a member of this family, and has many descendents. She and her older sister Martha married Pryor brothers.

Note: For your information I was born in Oxford, England on 16th October 1955 and I am what is known the world over I think as a G.I. baby. My birth father Edward Whatley was serving in the USAF in England at that time. He happened upon my mother and the rest as they say is history.
My line from Nicholas Bishop and Hannah Bracken is:
Nicholas Bishop m. Hannah Bracken
John Bishop m. Wife Unknown (can you help with this info ?)
Martha C.Bishop (b.1795 d.1882) m. 1848 Enoch G.Giles (b.1794 d. 1861-1870)
Leander Thomas Giles (b.1830 d. 1863) m. 1850 Emaline Matilda Presley (dates unknown)
Thomas C.Giles (b. 1853 d. 1927) m. unknown Eda Frances Ham (dates unknown)
Della J.Giles (b.1889 d. 1973) m. Hugh Curtis(s) Whatley (b. 1888 or 1893 d.1945)
Edward Clearsey Whatley (b. 1919 d. 1997)
I only discovered my true birth information about 4 years ago and it has triggered something in me to find out as much as I can about my ancestors. I've also always been fascinated by the history of the United States so as you can imagine I have a thirst not only for this family knowledge, but also the social history that is connected.
I have a lot of information on one of the brothers of Leander Thomas Giles referred to above (Jesse Green Giles), and I am humbled by the apparent hardships that many of these settlers and their descendents went thorough.
Jesse Green Giles had 11 children and only five of them lived until their thirties, and I'm sure that many families will have suffered a higher mortality rate than that.
I now live in Princes Risborough in the county of Buckinghamshire (about 50 miles WNW of London). I am married to Carolyn and have four kids (Paul 26, Emma & Kate (twins of 21) and Lauren 7).
I am very grateful for any help you can give Phil and look forward to hearing from you when you able.
Kind regards
Alan
